Eastern Michigan University Trophy collection

Abstract

The Eastern Michigan University Trophy collection is an artificial collection of items whose provenance is unknown. There are other trophies in a variety of collection including the Forensic Team records, Roosevelt School records, and Student Government, to name a few. Included in this collection is a trophy for the Ohio Relays Challenge, Homecoming and Champion of Students.

Jack Weiss collection

Abstract

The Jack Weiss collection contains one letterman blanket that belonged to Weiss while he attended Michigan State Normal College. Weiss lettered in both football and track and field. He was number 64 on the football team and play for four years. Weiss competed in the weights division of track and field for three years. He graduated from MSNC in 1950.

Abstract James J. Balten, Sr. born September 13, 1915 and graduated from Akron New York High School. During his time at the Normal College he was a member of the Phi Delta Pi fraternity and the Physical Education Club, held the position of lineman on the football team where he lettered in the fall of 1936, '37 and '38 and threw shotput for the Track and Field team (1938, '39). John Harold Goodsman collection

Abstract

The John Harold Goodsman collection contains several letterman sweaters and blanket that belonged to Goodsman while he attended Michigan State Normal College (MSNC) from 1935-39. Goodsman, nicknamed "Red" by his team, lettered in tennis and band. He played tennis for three of his four years attending the school. He was captain of the tennis team for two of his three years participating. Goodsman graduated from MSNC in 1939.

Dr. Olds joined the EMU faculty in 1921 and worked in the Department of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, of which he served as the department chair from 1956 to 1963.
